I listened to my Echo on my original Model One tabletop radio while waiting for the Orb to arrive. Orb is oddly attractive. When placed on a stand, it looks like a valuable collector's plate. When hung on the wall, it reminds me of an in-wall speaker that sticks out a bit. First I heard directly from my Echo's AUX output via cable. I put it on a stand on the table and then hung it on the wall. The bass was naturally amplified on the wall, but muddy. High frequencies are very dampened, making it difficult to understand vocals. I haven't tried it wirelessly because it shouldn't play a role in the sound. I then plugged the Echo back into the Model One radio and was amazed at how much better it sounded than the Orb. The bass isn't as deep as the Orb, but it's precise. The high frequencies are perfect for casual listening. The best quality is the lively room-filling with a tireless sound that the ball just doesn't have. This is by no means a $249 sound. He returns on Monday morning.
