The main brush does not work. The car thinks it's stuck.

I received and installed the replacement parts yesterday. This morning the t8 aivi stopped for the first time and kept stopping and reporting a stuck/tangled main brush error. The brush seems to have too much play from side to side and I can only assume that this is causing the problem.
