I switched from a Belkin wireless router with a G 4 port to this D-Link wireless router with an N 8 port. Setup was easy. I use 6 wired connections including a VOIP phone connection and a wireless one. I love the expandability that the 8 ports offer. Wired is always better in my opinion. .That was always a problem for me, regardless of the router. A simple D-Link setup worked great! If I plugged the cat5 modem into the correct port on the router, everything would go very quickly. Lesson Learned: Plug In, Then Check Connections Again! I had to go into the router's menu and set up security and a few post-configuration features to set it up for my use. The router setup menu is a bit more complicated than the Belkin router menu. The connection appears to be faster on the wired end of the connection. Also, the WiFi seems to connect faster, works faster and doesn't drop out like it sometimes does on my G. I'm glad I invested in this 8-port D-Link. It's a gem, especially with 8 ports.
