Although this collar is advertised for dogs, I bought it for my youngest cat who is 20lbs. I couldn't put the cat's detachable collar on him: he put his paw between his neck and collar and undid the clasp. He only lives indoors so I'm less worried about his collar getting caught somewhere and not being able to free himself than about him accidentally coming out without ID. He's not trying to escape, but he's a cat after all, and you never know what they might do. To prevent him from strangling himself with the unbreakable collar, I give him enough slack to stick his head out if he really has to. I finally have a pink collar with yellow pineapples and yellow trimmings. My tomcat has gray and black striped fur and looks very elegant on him. I just don't subject him to the humiliating wearing of a bow tie!
