Easy Repair Zippo Butane Inserts

First of all let me name all the manufacturers that work in China. You lose control of the quality control of your products and damage your company's name and reputation. Don't outsource. This is a 3 minute solution. All you need is a small Phillips and flat head screwdriver.1. Remove the 2 bottom screws.2. Remove the bottom cover.3. Remove the small ring on the flame adjustment knob.4. Remove the brass stop.5. Turn the flame control knob counterclockwise a full 360Β°.6. Check the lighter and increase the flame height as desired.7. Set the limiter to the maximum value (far left)8. Reinstall everything else. The problem with those butane lighter barrels that are made in China and are ruining Zippo's reputation is quality control. The flame regulator on most of these inserts is factory set too low causing it not to work. It's charged and working at max butane pressure for a day or two. As soon as the pressure does not reach 100%, it fails. One note: make sure your spark goes to the bottom of the lighter shaft where the butane comes out. If it rises too high, it will hit the top of the hull and not the bottom of the well. Hello Zippo! They have tarnished your reputation for life with most people who bought them. Do it in the US!
