Know what you're getting

These little stones were designed for sharpening systems like Edge Pro and related knockoffs. Good selection of stones for the price but like the rest of the reviews it has some significant issues. Half of the stones were glued upside down, which is what I expected with this purchase. Which I didn't expect, except that when trying to remove the stones from the plastic backing, some of the stone was left behind. This happened at 800 and 6000 grit. This leaves holes in the stone and completely destroys it for grinding. Unless you take a leveling stone and remove quite a bit of material, the stones are just paperweights. Losing the 800 grit was the most disheartening as it is one of the most useful grit levels for keeping a knife sharp. But for the price I still think these are the best stones you can get for a sharpening system. Of course, it's not just for manual use, even if it says so in the description.
