Your hands don't get tired while playing while lying down (you can't play on a standard switch for a long period lying down), and it's much easier to carry around than a regular switch. The battery life is not great; it lasts for about 3.5 hours when playing demanding games like The Witcher or Zelda BOTW, and for about 4–4.5 hours when playing lighter games that don't tax the processor. Overall, I'm happy with the console; it's now my primary gaming system whether I'm at home or relaxing on the couch, and I only use the original switch while playing games on the TV.
