Woven nylon is padded on the inside, thick and durable. The pattern and color are beautiful. The buckle is light and thin, especially the part that protrudes into the hole. I feel like I'm about to put a collar on my dog and this part will break or just disappear. It would be much better to use strong quick release plastic clips. The extra length of the collar has nowhere to go, there is no ring to tuck in so I had to cut it off and burn the open edge with a lighter. It worked fine. The brand is HUGE on the collar. I'll probably remove it with my seam ripper in the days to come. A metal ring is big. Good for attaching a leash but there is no second smaller pendant ring so they get in the way when attaching a leash.
