I used it as paint (applied dry, let sit 30 minutes) and it worked great. I'll start by saying that this only lasted a few days on the part of my hair that was naturally dark brown, but survived 2 weeks of daily washing of the bleached/damaged hair I'm trying to regrow. I was looking for a way to hide the ugly blonde I had without damaging my hair which is why I'm so glad I found this. Even if I decide to dye it every week I only use half a bottle so I can afford it. Also, it smells exactly like bubble gum toothpaste, which I really liked. The 1st photo was at night when I colorized it 4/30 and the 2nd (sorry for the stupid face) was 5/10. I dyed it again on the 15th and by then it was a very faded pink with peachy blonde tones showing through. Update: I also used blue and purple now. The more you use the color the longer it lasts so I started dying every 3 weeks and the bottle actually lasts about 3 uses. I stay purple long enough that when the first blue fades it turns purple lol. I also have a teal that's being dyed in my hair right now, so I'll add a picture of that at some point. These are all different stages of staining/fading. It's at its darkest when you first do it and actually gets lighter after a few washes.
