Had to replace the existing jack control on my 5th wheel. A camper that was the epitome of everything that could go wrong with a camper. The original camper pressure pads became very intermittent and were a real pain to work with. The exchange worked great, let's see how long it lasts. In terms of cost, having worked in the electronics industry for many years, I can say with confidence that there should be good $15-20 parts for this item. I can understand the markup, the profits and whatnot, but in mass production of this thing by a contract manufacturer this thing should make a lot of profit. But you can't get it anywhere except from resellers and Lippert so they have you and they know it. There are really very few reasons why these press pads should wear out, they are essentially a closed unit and are used very little. Since the controller is usually located in an unheated room, there is a high probability of condensation etc. occurring during winter storage, which leads to oxidation of the conductor tracks in the button contacts. This piece is not well suited to the environment in which it is intended to stand. Having sold the Hades camper I don't know how durable this replacement is.
