Review on Outdoor/RV HDTV Antenna - ANTOP Omni-Directional Wing TV Antenna With Smartpass Amplifier &Amp by Anthony Gupta

Not very good

I've had a cheap flat piece of plastic antenna wedged between a window and a mosquito net for a year now and have been using HDHomerun to distribute channels around the house. Without any amplification I received up to 76 channels at one point, but more than 60 in total. Since the wire inside was raining due to the window not being able to close completely, I wanted an external antenna to cover the window. I bought this antenna hoping for at least the same, possibly better reception, but I was completely disappointed. The installation required a PVC pipe, which luckily I had, and I placed it at the same level as the previous antenna, which was aimed straight at the TV channels (according to the websites that give you this information, although it's supposed to be omnidirectional) and the maximum number of channels I could get was 47, but since channel 4 seems to be down I rescanned and now have 39. That's almost a 50% drop in channel reception regardless. Do I use an active signal booster? it comes with or not. And that antenna is much larger on the outside and, according to the description, more powerful than a $10 pane antenna pointed at a 45° angle by the TV stations (and not considered omnidirectional). If I thought there was a better and cheaper option. there I would return these, but since I don't want to spend more than fifty bucks on an external antenna and spend all that time climbing up and installing the last one, I'll just try to live with it for now (at least for now won't I find a better deal on something better?). If you can use an indoor antenna cheaply, do so. If you need better reception but don't want to save the money, try something over the $100 mark. This product is definitely not worth it.
