I bought this to use when I'm making wine and need to pour wine from a bucket into a glass bottle. It is convenient for pumping liquids. The only thing that surprised me a bit were the batteries used. For some reason I thought I already had the required batteries, but I didn't. This pump uses D-size batteries, which are the largest batteries used in older flashlights. Plus, it's easy to use: you dip the pump in liquid and turn on the switch. It puts no pressure on the source liquid and I would compare the liquid flow/pressure to a hose on a bucket.
