We have a puppy and he climbs on everything that gets in his eyes and has socks and shoes when not constantly checked. I bought this set of ottomans to put on the floor at the foot of the bed to throw our socks and shoes in so the pup can't get to them. They work very well for this purpose. The poufs are small but sturdy. The lid fits well but is easy to remove and close. If I had to, I could probably fit up to four pairs of shoes in each ottoman. I would definitely recommend them and buy them again if needed.
