I read all the reviews before getting these and hoped the positive ones were more accurate than the negative ones. That's how far they are. I received a collar with a stronger antenna than pictured and it has withstood rough dog handling/play and fence diving. I think most of the negative feedback is because people didn't read and follow the instructions and didn't spend some time thinking about how to set the midpoint of the boundary zone for the fence. I chose the center point and then went to where I wanted to draw the line and when that wasn't what I wanted I did it again. Yes, a circle is not what we think, and I also think it's much better for large areas. I love how I can turn the fence off but still have the collar to work with my dog so he can leave the area without penalty and then turn it back on so I can find his approximate location. I use my herding dog on the cattle ranch, that gives you an idea of the area I work in.
