Review on 🚰 Whirlpool Everydrop Ice and Water Refrigerator Filter, EDR5RXD1, Single-Pack by Matt Charlton

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Replacement for Whirlpool 4396510 (and PUR W10186668) NSF 42 and NSF 53

Water filter replacement for 4396510. I previously bought a PUR part W10186668 which appears to be discontinued and is almost the same. Price and filter properties. Everydrop's product label states that it is NSF 42 Aesthetics (chlorine, taste, odor, and particulates) and NSF 53 Health Effects (cysts, lead, mercury, etc.) tested and certified. . NSF 53 is the difference between filters that cost under $20 and filters that cost more than $30. NSF 53 is not specifically listed on Revain's product listing and on the whirlpool websites, but is stated on the paper packaging. See photos. Everydrop is perfect for my KitchenAid circa 2002. As others have noted, the physical design has changed a bit, but that wasn't a problem for me. The shoulder of the canister is higher. See also my photo for comparison with PUR (left: Everydrop, right: PUR). The first gallon washed comes out almost clear. The cartridge simply inserts and rotates for installation. To remove the old filter, I twist the handle with the butt end of a can opener or rubber-gripped pliers. Everydrop 3/2016 product label says "Made in Taiwan" (compared to PUR W10186668 "Made in Mexico"). .
