My new watercolor passion!

Watercolor is my medium of choice, although I do a variety of art forms. I've been a big fan of M. Graham paints for a number of years and usually turn to them when I want to paint. I recently stumbled across Sanazhana's art on Youtube/Facebook and after seeing her drawings I just knew I had to try this. It's safe to say that they meet and exceed all of my expectations! The colors are really rich and vibrant! There are enough colors in this range that you can mix almost all of them. There is cool yellow, warm yellow, cool red, warm red, cool blue, warm blue, brown and black. This would make a great starter set on its own, but it also includes white, green, purple, and a third pink color. My only criticism of the proposed colors is that the two reds look almost identical on their own, but they'll be useful for at least slightly different blending options. much more expensive. I decided to play it safe and grab these if I didn't like them. I just love getting this set. I finished the whole painting with no more than 2 drops of each color (except maybe a few extras when trying to get just the right mix), so I expect these "little" bottles to last a while longer. I've used them on watercolor paper and coloring books and they work great on both. They work with normal brushes and water brushes. They seem to dry fairly quickly so they take a bit of getting used to - once dry they remain permanent and don't recover like some watercolors. If you have used Inktense pencils/pads they will be very similar to the dry ones. Right now I don't think there's anything these bright colors can't do, so give it a try!

Pros
  • Brilliant, lightfast, transparent liquid watercolor for painting on paper or canvas
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
