Good product but flaws

**********Update********************Additional comments after multiple use Months:- I picked up the camera's shoulder strap while walking, but didn't realize it got tangled up with the USB connector that plugged into the camera's USB port. After walking around for a while, I found that the GPS module stopped working with my camera. I later discovered that my USB port on the camera stopped working (not even for uploading photos!). I must have damaged it. The good news is that the GPS module still works. So be careful for 7D users. I used this device to track logs on a recent trip from China to South Africa and back via Sinapore. The device even picked up the signal during the flight. However, there are times when the GPS LED blinked like it was online, but later I couldn't find any data for that period. Even after I reset it by turning it off and on again. But overall he recorded most of the trip. Still very helpful. I use Powrex 2700mA batteries. The battery life is very good - more than a few days, even in the cold. ************************** Bought this unit for my EOS 7D. Works well. The tagging and logging features are very useful for what they are intended for. I have a few complaints: 1. The USB connector on the GPS side is a mini USB connector, but it is different from the connector on the camera side: one is type A and the other is type B, so the package does not include one Cable for connection to a PC. How does Canon expect the user to upload title information?2. Flashing lights are not intuitive. Both the battery and signal lights will flash every 5 seconds when "normal". Normally, the RED LED should be solid to indicate "Battery Good" or "Battery Bad"; "Signal OK" or "Signal not OK" etc. You need to look at the displays for a few seconds each time to see the status. This is not normal.3. The locating signal is sometimes surprising. About 20-30% of the photos need a little adjustment to get an accurate position (about 30 feet). It doesn't matter unless you're looking for true perfection. The device is also quite large and replaces the flash. But it does what it's supposed to do and saves time on manual tagging, so it's a big help. I hope that the next firmware update will improve the LED indicators.
