Review on Auburn Leathercrafters Rolled Dog Collar Dogs : Training & Behavior Aids by Taffy Taylor

I gave this collar five stars at first because it was great when I opened it up and put it on my pup. She is a 35lb beagle/bulldog mix and the collar itself is really good. Her name is Ruby so we bought her a red collar - the collar itself is not red, the vinyl coating on the skin is red. She had literally been playing in the water for 20 minutes when the rubber coating rose and started to peel off. Now the edges of the collar are peeling off and part of the collar is red and part yellow orange because the real leather is underneath and I could remove more of the red rubber if I wanted to. And when I put a leash on her, I tie her to a tie, and even if her tags rub against the collar, the red substance flakes off even more. It's a good collar, but it doesn't feel super strong, especially for the amount I paid for it. I think it's more for petite dogs who won't scratch it.
