Before you buy a plug-in memory module for your iOS device, I strongly recommend that you read the app's reviews first to read in the App Store. The SanDisk iexpand app has received more reviews than most iPhone/iPad flash drive apps, but it's not without criticism. Operations - save, copy, move, etc. This is Apple's fault. For a long time, the camera roll was the only fileset available for the user interface. Files in iCloud are now available too - but of course you're paying Apple for the privilege of a large enough iCloud. This flash drive is physically very small. It seems to work well and I haven't had any issues with my iPad's thin casing preventing the drive from connecting to the Lightning connector. You need to install the SanDisk iexpand app. Normally all Flash usage is done through this app. The real problem is that SanDisk thinks users are dumb and tries too hard to make the app "user-friendly", to the point where the UI is mostly nice images and a bit slow. It is very good at two things: saving, sharing and backing up images and videos from a camera roll file. in for the SanDisk iexpand flash drive. This application handles files much more than Windows handles files. You can save, copy, and move files between the app itself, iCloud, network drives, and other computers on your network, as well as your camera roll (where your photos and videos are usually stored) and Flash. For those more used to Windows file manipulation, this seems more "normal" and without the silly delays of the SanDisk iexpand app. One thing you can't do is you can't use SanDrive in any way to copy music related files or iTunes related video files. The Digital Rights Management (DRM) system rules this out. So you can move and play DRM-free music and videos with SanDisk Flash, but it's not a way to share music or videos you bought from iTunes. When I finally found I could upgrade to the File Browser Biz app, I was happy with what I was able to do with the SanDisk flash on my iPad. Final limits are based on apps and how iOS handles files.
