A haircut at a Ford dealership cost me about $22. After that, according to online instructions, I programmed the keys for the ignition and security system. Make sure you are given two (2) sets of programming instructions. One set of instructions programs the key fob for the ignition but not the security system. The second programs the key fob for the security/alarm system and locks/unlocks the doors. If you do neither, the key can be used to manually unlock the door but not the security/alarm system. Hence the alarm will go off. You will also need both original keys to program new keys or you will need to take them to the dealer and pay them to cut and program the keys.
