BETA TESTED BY MY LAW OFFICE

My law firm recently switched to electronic dictation and has tested several devices including the Phillips DPM6700. Four attorneys in my office tested this device and all had the same annoying problem. During dictation, the device somehow unexpectedly jumps back to the beginning of the dictation with no sound indication. Before you know it, you have dictated the beginning of your dictation. Several testers including myself have lost a significant amount of important dictation due to this problem and no one has been able to figure out why this is happening. We had two separate devices and this happened on both. The movement of the sliding mechanism on this device is also not very smooth compared to other devices. Other points of criticism were the difficult menu navigation and generally not as intuitive as devices from other manufacturers. The testers agreed that the Phillips should be abandoned, and we decided to stick with the Olympus.
