One of the biggest downsides to ALL of these multi-in-1 hubs is the ethernet port, followed by the USB ports. This is no exception. The Ethernet port was OBF. (Rejected out of the box.) It just didn't work. I immediately plugged an ethernet cable into my current mini USB hub with an ethernet port and no problem. It worked. Back to this device, it didn't work. Oddly enough, the LEDs on the port indicated that the port was receiving a signal. When checking the network settings, the status showed "Ethernet not connected" when an Ethernet cable was connected to this device. But the weirdest thing was that unlike other devices I've used to connect the ethernet cable, this device shows the PHONE icon when connected! I wonder if that is the reason? Did you just mix up "telephone" with "Ethernet" wiring? This 4-port device (2 USB ports, one HDMI port, and one Ethernet port) is quite "small" in terms of the number of ports it offers (e.g. no SD card slot, no USB-C) , so that one could think with less complexity and need for electricity, it will work well and reliably. It means nothing because the ethernet port is not working. In any case, it ends up in the garbage.
