My son doesn't go swimming without a rashguard I think he feels too modest or something is strange because he is not fat at all, he is a skinny twelve year old boy. He is about average height for his age and the children he goes to school with. I bought a size 14 because he also doesn't want his rash guard to be as tight as it should be. Well it fits just how he wants it, it's a little loose for a medium sized twelve year old but certainly not too loose for a swim. I think it fits perfectly as it's snug but doesn't pinch a 14 year old at all designed to fit. Either way, we're both happy with the purchase, so it's a win-win situation.
