Review on SnapPower GuideLight 2 Outlet Night Light Bar - 10 Pack (New Version) - LED Wall Plate with Automatic On/Off Sensor - Electrical Outlet Night Lights (Duplex, White) by Robert Worlds

Addition to my negative review

In the end they work. The problem is that all of my outlets are grounded, not downstairs like most homes. There are two solutions to this problem: 1) Install the Snap Power Guidelight so that the LEDs are on the UP so they shine upward, OR 2) Remove the base mounting screws and rotate the base 180 degrees so that the Ground rests on the underside (after switching on, of course, turn off on the circuit board). I chose the second option because I wanted the LEDs to shine down and illuminate the floor in a dark hallway. The instructions are in very small print, the Troubleshooting section on page 8 says "Products must be installed so that the LEDs or USB ports are ON THE SAME SIDE as the outlet ground" and there is a figure showing two options that I just named. Now that they are up and running they work VERY well, dimming when there is other good lighting and looking really good in a gloomy or dark hallway. Even if the installation looks simple enough and only shows illustrations from scratch, sometimes it's good to slow down and read ALL the instructions, including troubleshooting.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Some difficulties
