Review on 🚲 Racor PBH-1R Garage Pulley Lift for Bike Storage by Jacob Ashman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Strong enough to hold a tandem

This is my fourth Racor product. I also have a freestanding bike rack for two bikes, a floor rack for two bikes, and a single vertical bike rack. My little-used Trek T900 tandem took up a lot of space in the top half of the free-standing bike rack, and lifting it wasn't an easy task for one person. I bought this lift to free up space on my bike rack and hopefully make storage less tiring. large hardware store for $12). This was the most time consuming part of the installation process. Finding and marking the 11-foot ceiling trusses required patience and care. And screwing the pine board together had to be done by two people. But once he was there, installing the elevator itself went pretty quickly. I would recommend using 1 x 4 under ALL circumstances - the width of the board allows you to attach the casters with four screws instead of two. It hasn't even been a day yet, but I'm happy to announce my T900. seems safe and secure there. I will definitely update this review if it goes down. I felt uncomfortable using the hooks under the seat. This may be due to the wide and very soft seat construction and is not a design flaw on the Racor. So I attached it to the C-pillar instead. I was a little disappointed that the bike was raised unevenly. The heavier tail hung much lower than the front. I expected some engineering magic to smooth things out. In the end, it took two people and a few tries to get the bike hanging parallel to the ground.

Pros
  • Adjustable - for use on ceilings up to 12ft high
Cons
  • Annoying
