4K Plex Media Player

The main purpose of this product was to be an HTPC in the form of a Plex Media Player that plays media files from my home computer's Plex Media Server. RAM and NVME SSD I bought: Ballistix Sport LT 8 GB Single DDR4 2400 MT/s (PC4-19200) SODIMM 260-pin Memory - BLS8G4S240FSD and Samsung 960 EVO Series - 250 GB PCIe NVMe - M.2 Internal SSD (MZ-V6E250BW). Installing Windows Since Windows 7 was my one true love, of course I created a bootable USB stick and started the installation. However, the keyboard and mouse didn't work. A Google search revealed that Windows 7 does not support USB 3.0. So I made the necessary modifications to support USB 3.0. Then, of course, I found out that there is no nvme support and I couldn't determine the disk. Losing patience, I just downloaded Windows 10 Media Creation Tool and created a Windows 10 bootable USB. My first attempt to install Windows 10 failed, I received the error message "Windows cannot set offline locale information". I rebooted, wiped partitions and tried again. It worked the second time. Harmony Support Being a fool, I was a fool not to pay close attention to the spec and bought Flirc - so it would be compatible with my Harmony remote. But of course Skull Canyon already has an infrared port. After installing the driver I was able to find the exact NUC model number and add it as a device. From then on everything went great. Plex Media Player I just wanted to point out that there is a difference between Plex Media Server and Plex Media Player. Be sure to download Plex Media Player for more home theater-like experiences. My device already had the HDMI 2.0 firmware update. Just make sure it connects directly to your TV. I was connected to an Octava 4 x 1 HDMI Audio Switcher with ARC and optical audio out and it only displayed 4k at 30Hz. There is a firmware update for this switch to support 4k so I'll play around with that later. And I also had problems with surround sound. Connecting directly to the TV solved my problem. So! No lags, works as it should. I also have a Logitech K400 Plus Wireless Touch Keyboard, a touch keyboard for internet-connected TVs, which works very well with this setup.
