STRIPES: BAD color bleed :(

UPDATE!A few months ago I wrote a glowing review below of a previous purchase of Marimekko flower napkins which I still love. However the black and white striped sets I bought are horrible! I've bought several floral sets and love them. Fearing that these amazing cotton towels would be discontinued I bought a couple of stripe sets to use one set now and a couple of new sets to back up (see below; I know , I'm obsessed!) decided to put the striped set on my king-size bed, so I did what I always do: washed the set myself Cold water with minimal amount of detergent without dyes and odors in front of the loader - then set the dryer to medium heat. RESULT WAS TERRIBLE! There were colored spots on each piece and - I've never seen anything like this before - big ugly patches of dots and blemishes. The white stripes now look mottled, dirty grey, and there are stains everywhere - the flat sheet, yoke and both pillowcases. The color is difficult to photograph, but the difference is unmistakable. These are coming back - now I should probably wash another set and see if it happens again. Unfortunately, because I really thought I'd found the perfect percale bedding. ________ (the review below was written on a previous purchase, different drawing) I'm pretty picky about bedding; I only buy 100% cotton and love crisp percale. The fabric has a very comfortable weight. If you love all-cotton and percale Ralph Lauren bedding, you'll love these. Although they don't have the smooth sheen and crispness of RL cotton sheets. What I like best: They surprisingly don't wrinkle. I iron my cotton sheets often, but the 4" edge of the flat sheet and pillowcases stay flat after washing, so I don't feel the need to iron them like I normally would. The fabric is much smoother and feels more comfortable if you take the time to steam iron. I was won over by the weight of the cotton percale and have purchased several sets of these sheets. I think they get better with age after being washed a lot. I want the duvet cover to be striped. If you like heavier sheets like Vintage Martex or similar, you'll love these. I don't find them coarse, but they aren't smooth, silky, with lots of threads, and I like durable cotton that only gets better with time.
