The radiator in my 2000 Miata has turned a brown/green color which many people think is on the way to failure. tow truck. Since the car is 18 years old, I decided to change the two hoses that connect the radiator to the engine. If you're just changing the radiator and not the hoses, it probably really takes 1-1.5 hours. Since I swapped the top and bottom tubes, I had to remove the lower case that sort of hides the bottom of the cooler. While this part of the job isn't difficult to understand what you're trying to do, it does require a headache. Most of the bolts you need to remove are very easy, but two were particularly hard to get to, one on each side, which have a bracket holding the fog lights to the body. It's not that hard to take them off but putting them back on is a different story lol. When you get there you'll know what I'm talking about :-) All in all a mostly easy job, with a few dizzying screws. I worked a total of 2-3/4 hours at an easy/slow pace with a few short breaks. I'd say at least half the job was removing and reinstalling that damn bottom plastic cover. Don't let that put you off, just remember that this will most likely test your patience when you get to this part. Now they've used the car for a couple of weeks with a new radiator and it's working great with no leaks. I'm happy!
