2012 VW Beetle - everything works except reverse - poor instructions

I used this to fit a Pioneer NEX head unit into my wife's manual transmission base 2012 VW Beetle. All the extras work great (12 volt switch, handbrake, RAP) EXCEPT the reverse signal wire which may be due to a lack of signal from the car's canbus rather than a wiring harness issue. Which brings me to the biggest issue with this item and the reason for the three stars. It comes with VIRTUALLY NO INSTRUCTIONS. For example it shouldn't just say it works with 2012-17 VW Beetles, it should indicate which features work and DO NOT work (not knowing the return wire wasn't working I had to tug on the dash again to get the enable again connect the reverse light wire to the vehicle's reverse light wire, which was a problem). Also, you'll have to scour the web to figure out how to properly install and more importantly, INITIALIZE this thing. to work and this must be done BEFORE installation: 1. Connect xsvi to car, DO NOT connect to radio yet.2. Close all doors.3. Turn the ignition to the "On” position for 45-60 seconds (do not start the car). 4. When the time is up, turn the key to the off position, remove the key from the ignition and open the door.5. Connect the radio to the wiring harness (leave the wiring harness still connected to the car). Note: You don't need to close the door when reconnecting the radio.
