The hooks in the perforated plate work very well. I mean they swing. It snaps at the top and then snaps at the bottom. Firmly. No complaints. towel rail. but doesn't work that well. A pad (small) goes through the middle of the towels. But. he does NOT hold towels. They are held in place by large plastic tips. They are spring loaded by the tension of the plastic(?) holding them to the gasket. The spacer is slightly longer than required for a standard sized towel roll to maintain tension. I don't know why they were worried. I assume this is to keep the two ends in place and not squeeze the towel roll so much that you can't unroll the towel. It's a PAIN to add a towel roll though. You need to put a spacer in the small hole on one end, you put the towel roll through and in the big hole. Then, while holding these two items, you must press on the spring action of the first end piece, and then pull the other end back with your other (third or fourth) hand. You then need to insert the pad into the small hole, but there is only about 1/2 inch between the end of the towel and the large hole. The bottom line is pain to get it. Once it's in, it works great. Cheap but well designed. If only they had an easy way to load a roll of towels that would be 5 stars. Maybe I'll be fine after installing 10 rolls.
