I use these frames to mount two 11X14 prints side by side with tables of subjects I study. It just helps me neatly and clearly assemble visual information to learn detailed information, an approach I feel suits my learning style. They are light weight so I can easily hang them up but I will take them off to hold them in my hands to have a closer look at the charts. (I just use one of the included hangers, centered on top, to hang them rather than messing around with two hangers and photo frame wire.) Yes, you'll need to remove the plastic cover on either side, but if that protects against scratches in the factory, in transit, or Unpack, I agree to the extra step. Yes, those little flexible protrusions are annoying, but I found out a long time ago that using a small screwdriver is easy on my fingers and very good at raising and depressing the protrusions; Maybe that keeps costs down, which is good. For me, a cardboard backing makes the frame light, which is a plus. Another benefit is the frame's narrow rail - about 1/4" on all sides in my measurements - which means very little of what's being mounted is hidden by the frame. This is the second batch I've ordered have.and I expect to order more in the future if the need arises.Delivery was quick.Generally excellent quality.One downside: factory or warehouse packaging as it looks like it came straight from the seller.They used oddly shaped, oddly spaced, gray coated styrofoam balls that slid down the box during shipping.On the first batch I ordered, one such drop slid off the edge right into the center of the frame, partially pushing two sheets of plastic straight out of the frame. Although they suffered from this setback, they actually regained a near-perfect aircraft and eventually became reasonably serviceable. my second delivery, the mystery styrofoam balls did not deviate that much and the order was delivered normally. However, perhaps the warehouse manager and packaging designer could get together and come up with something less unique and more effective.
