This scratching post may be fine for small cats or kittens, but it is definitely not suitable for adult large cats or overweight cats. the tree keeps falling. It also cannot even fit in a small "cave" level. The entrance is approximately 6 inches wide, barely big enough for kittens let alone a healthy weight adult cat. The base isn't wide enough to stay upright when the cat jumps on it, and I had to screw in a couple 2/12's to add weight and balance. The plush ring assembly for the upper tier also falls off regularly, just staying in the same place as the steering wheel cover. The bobble toy fell off after a day. I think it's okay with me because the cat likes to hit her, but it was disappointing. The plastic handle holding the bolt for the rope toy was broken on arrival and unusable. Also a disappointment. There are many shortcomings in general, but if you know how to use the tools and various DIY methods, you can make it work. Overall, this is better than paying $150 for other trees of the same build.
