The bonnet braces on my 2010 BMW 535i (E60) were so bad that the bonnet would fall off with any moderate gust of wind, forcing the engine bay to work hard without the Prop the hood up with a stick. The replacement was easy, you just pry the metal clip on the old strut heads and loosen them from the hood. I could tell the difference the first time I installed it. A strut was more than capable of holding the hood open. Two new struts later and now my hood seems to lock when fully open and it actually takes some effort to get it off. Open the hood and lift it a few centimeters, now everything opens with little effort. GREAT!
