We originally had one of those training collars where you press a button on the remote control to make the collar beep or vibrate. It didn't work that well if you were just trying to get her to stop barking. She figured out pretty quickly how to tell when we weren't paying close attention to him. It's just that this collar is always on and responds immediately when she barks. It gets more and more annoying as she keeps barking. This pretty quickly put an end to her constant work of barking at people and dogs walking by the house. In fact, I don't think I saw her make it past the second level! She used to bark at her head! I think her stress level has gone down too. She is no longer always "at work" protecting property unless she feels something is REALLY wrong. I think it also reduced her resentment towards us for trying to limit her barking. Well, it's not something we always do with it, just a thing we put on that does its job. She seems to understand. I didn't realize when I bought it that this isn't a rechargeable collar. Comes with two high capacity batteries. The first ones haven't died yet and I assume they will hold up for quite a while before you need to change them. What to look out for when buying.
