I was looking for something to keep Kitty the feral dog under control but was completely disappointed after a few expensive items! AFTER ALL! A friend suggested it and the world is a much better place! After VERY few hits, all I have to do is SHOW her the remote control and she will settle down and become a new dog without too much trouble! She is happier and so am I - all I seemed to do was scold her - we get along much better now - wish you had kids and/or a model husband (just kidding - well maybe not! ) in my opinion this device is perfect for both dog safety and my mental health - I was very skeptical that I thought it could be cruel - believe me it isn't. now she responds to us and happily obeyed - better and was not to be desired - she was so out of control - it's like heaven
