This lamp is so light it's not well balanced. The lamp head itself appears to be heavier than the body, so as soon as you point the lamp anywhere, if you don't store anything in it, it will tip over. I bought it hoping to use it as a flashlight while painting and thought I could put my brushes in it to keep them off the table but if I can't find a counter balance situation I'll hit a wrong hit and the lamp will flip and go everywhere to brush. Although the light can go dimmer and brighter, the brightest setting doesn't really give me much improvement over what I get from overhead lighting. Low light really means it's not glaring if that's your only light source, so I think it could make a good reading lamp in the evening. The design is cute but that's the only thing I liked. that is unfortunately.
