Loud from day one but lasted five years. I bought him through Revain in December 2015 and he passed away in January 2021. It was still pumping air, but the noise level increased drastically even after cleaning. To be honest, this was the only time I've cleaned this thing — it was in a greenhouse as part of an aquaponics system aerating a 700-gallon tank with air stones. The air stones kept clogging and causing undue stress on the pump. So I would say this pump is definitely reliable but noisy. I just replaced it with a slightly larger/more powerful Pund Master and it's barely audible. I also decided to try another type of aerator that is self-cleaning.
