Happiness is rarely an issue in Seagate (there was an unpleasant moment with the 11th series - the disk was determined every other time, changed under warranty, still works). And now, I'd want to elaborate on why I felt compelled to make this observation (I very rarely do this, maybe it will help someone). When I try to copy a large file to a drive, Windows XP locks up, and even after I restart the system, the transfer rate is just 3 MB per second. Turning off the electricity to the gadget solves the problem. The disk is completely destroyed and the BIOS doesn't detect it after a copy operation in Windows 7. The solution is comparable to that. There is only one computer used for everything. All systems are go on the other machines. Indeed, CC4C firmware was used. It turned out that I could have avoided the whole ordeal by simply unplugging the network card; I didn't even need to disable it in the BIOS or the management. The copying speed drops once you insert the disk, and the disk keeps coming loose. Atheros AR8131 network card and/or drivers (not the first time with these network jambs), Intel ICH7 controller, or still a new disk (after all, the other 5 disks, including 3 hanging on ICH7, do not have similar problems), or compatibility issues with all of this economy at once? To fix this, I disabled the inbuilt network and enabled the Intel network. The typical time spent in transit is seven days. ate 04.042022. For the ST2022DM001-9YN164, I have a disk with the CC4H firmware and three pancakes, and for the ST3000DM001-1CH166, I have a disk with the CC29 firmware and three pancakes. The disks are working as expected. I haven't heard any complaints about it, but it could just be because I don't use it very often. And swapped out the computer's motherboard. Please allow me to explain on the firmware, which, at the time of this review's publication, stood at CC4H for 9YN16x drives and, depending on the updates, either CC29 or CC49 for later 1CH16x drives.
