You need to buy your own bulb. If you're buying this to replace an old light fixture, chances are you just need a new ballast. If you can disassemble the old fixture by removing the cover (rather than the lens), the ballast on any fluorescent bulb is easy to replace instead of buying a brand new one. The lid is usually held in place by a pair of metal grommets in the base. You have to press hard directly on these ridges to deflect the lid just enough to clear the small ridge. This exposes the wiring, so make sure the instrument is powered off. At this point you can take the ballast out and take it to the hardware store to get a new one. This light does NOT come with a T5 bulb so be sure to buy one. It comes with a wire clip that fits into one of the cutouts but sticks out a bit on the side so make sure you have some room. No switch cover is included if you want to convert it to a light switch only installation. You can still control it with the light switch, you just need to keep the device switch in the ON position at all times.
