UPDATE: I'm back from a trip to Iceland and am updating my review. These shows are warm, durable and waterproof (unless you accidentally fall into a glacial lake and dove them head to toe like I did haha, but that was entirely my fault. They seem to dry up well after a fall!) . The only reason I'm giving this 4/5 stars is that after a few days of wearing them they created bruises on the left side (outside) of my lower leg on both feet. So if you hike for a week or so, take another pair of shoes with you as these shoes are very stiff and can create pressure points. That's the only downside to them, other than that they're amazing and I'm glad I bought them. I ordered them for an upcoming trip to Iceland so I will update my review after the trip but for now I like them and I think they will be perfect. They fit very well and offer comfortable arch and ankle support. They also appear to be of quality construction and materials. I wasn't sure what size he ordered based on mixed sizing reviews and I made a 'size chart' that comes with the product and after filling in the questions I was told to size Order 8.5 so I did and they fit! I usually wear an 8 and sometimes an 8.5 depending on the shoes. I've tried them on with thin socks, medium socks, regular thick socks, and extra thick padded wool socks (heavy for snowboarding) and they fit them all! They are way too tight with very thick padded socks but they still fit and I don't expect that to be a problem. In the photos I am wearing normal thick socks. Bonus: They're pretty cute when it comes to women's hiking and outdoor shoes!
