Review on DROK DR-US180076 DC Voltage Regulator: 6-40V to 0-32V, 5A Buck Converter for Constant Voltage Current Step Down, Power Supply: 24V 12V to 5V, Adjustable Output by Justin Garrett

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Really great unit for the price but burned out after 2 months of use

Really well regulated power supply that can run on both constant voltage and constant current. It's an amazing feature set for such a small, inexpensive device. Pros: * 5 amps of power with heatsink only = noiseless * Running continuously for two months and not even getting hot * Very accurate and stable power output * Good enough current signal to drive a pump or DC motor. Cons: * Burnt out after two months of light use * Noisy switched output can't drive microcontrollers directly (but can power anything that has its own regulator, such as a Raspberry Pi). Instead I gave it 4 stars because it blew out after two months of use. In the end, there was a short circuit on the circuit board next to the microcontroller that controls the control loop. This means it could be a manufacturing defect rather than a design flaw. So 4 stars instead of below.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
