ONE YEAR REVIEW - I bought this cover to protect our new sofa's chaise longue from our three cats who don't scratch but tend to theirs sticking claws into it. when they jump on things; a cat with a condition that is accompanied by frequent vomiting; and a large dog that has salivation problems. We don't use straps, we tuck the edges of the cover into the sofa cushions and it's more than big enough for that. Although the cover does a good job of protecting the sofa from additional scratch marks, it has poor water resistance and allows liquids to penetrate deep inside. It claims you should clean up spills immediately, but it doesn't really do much to protect against any kind of spill or liquid. Keep that in mind if you need a protective case for this purpose. That's exactly why we're getting a new cover. Last year, it was easy to remove the stains and toss them in the washer and dryer as usual. It's still well built and doesn't look too worn but has already started rolling.
