This is a good inexpensive cotton tie. I would call him 'lean' rather than 'skinny' as the latter conjures up a much narrower image in my mind, but that's because I lived through the 80's. I really like this size as I'm small and petite so "regular" size ties make it look like I'm wearing a bib. The quality is good - the threads don't pull, the threads don't stick out, there are no creases or distortions on the edge. The print is restrained, which is nice as opposed to crowded. Nice decent tie and very good price
