I bought this organizer to save floor and shoe rack space and also to have a place to store shoes where they don't get scattered or stacked on top of each other Miscellaneous. This product definitely fits and exceeded my expectations for the price. I like that they are sold in a row. I bought 2 and appreciate being able to move one to another location if I need to open the door wider (although it's great for my bedroom anyway). I can fit any type of shoe other than my calf and knee high boots, although I didn't expect a door unit to do this. As you can see from the photos I have everything from heeled ankle boots to tennis shoes, sandals, wedges, sneakers and 6 inch heels. I can put 2 sneakers in a bag or 2 pairs of flip flops. For reference, I wear a women's size 8. None of my shoes are in danger of falling out of my pockets. They are a comfortable size without being too flimsy. I would personally go for a lighter gray but opt for a darker color so the dirt on the soles of the shoes is less visible. After a month, it still looks brand new with daily use. The materials feel solid and every single detail is well placed. As you can see from the photos, the metal door hangers are quite thin and flat. This does not appear to have affected their power. They have not warped and stay flush with the top of my door. I open and close my door many times a day without holding on from above. My only complaint, and it's a small one, is that I wish there was an option that adds another set of pockets, or even two. The current size is perfect for smaller spaces like RVs and RVs, so I can see why it hasn't been expanded. It would also potentially be quite heavy if it were longer. Overall very happy with it. I will probably buy some of these for my kids too.
