Review on πŸ’Š The Pill Bag 100 Count - Convenient 3" X 2" Size, 3 Mil Thickness (2 Pack) by Roy Cook

Solution for daily intake of many medications.

My elderly father takes a variety of medications and supplements to treat many conditions ranging from heart disease and diabetes to anemia and gastroparesis. The need to separate certain prescriptions and supplements was a matter of course since he took half in the morning and the rest in the evening, which led to serious side effects and due to the side effects of drug interactions, almost all of his conditions were aggravated. Regular pill trays didn't work because at best they only marked breakfast, lunch, dinner and bedtime and he had to eat nine times a day. He listed all of the medications and supplements he was taking at any time of the day, with or without food, and gave each of his doctors a copy for reference. They all agreed with this systematic dosing approach, so the next hurdle was figuring out how to do it. I needed a reliable, orderly way to administer his medication that would be taken at the right time of day and was easy to use. Bags liked their strength and ease of opening and closing. The size was ok but the writing area on the front of the pills didn't suit his needs. The way they are delivered will probably work for someone else but for his many medications I needed more space to write than what is offered on the pack. I bought sticky labels and attached one to each package. I marked each day of the week with a specific color permanent marker and headed into town. I laid out 9 bags for the first day - labeled all 9 bags with a colored marker with all the information for that day and numbered the bags 1-9. A typical number of packs of pills per day would look like this: (highlighted in purple highlighting) SUNDAY - 1 - Take 30 minutes BEFORE breakfast (and then the medications were listed and placed in the pack) Next pack says SUNDAY - 2 - Zum have breakfast, and so on. Then, each day, I put 9 bags in a large zippered bag and labeled it SUNDAY. I used a different colored marker for each day of the week. I found this to be an important part of the system because he knows it's SUNDAY all purple and the numbers 1 through 9 help him ensure he hasn't lost his bag or forgotten to take it with him. It took a long time the first time. around, but he loved this system. I can stock up on his medication for a month, I always know what medication to order, and yet I already have enough medication in pill bags for a week or two. You don't have to wait until the last minute to change your order. If his medication changes, I can remove the label from the pack and replace it with the corrected version. The other benefit of the pill pouches is that he can take his dose BEFORE lunch when he leaves the house and he has a pill pouch in his pocket to take with him when he comes to the restaurant. While this review related more to what I did with the packets than to the product itself, I felt that explaining how I used them might give someone in the same boat a solution to many medication dispensing needs , when ordinary plastic boxes are not enough.
