The ibox bookshelf speakers looked very good. It looked and felt premium, except for the grill. I really wanted to love it because the aesthetic would be perfect for what I was aiming for. It comes with optical input, aux/line input and even Bluetooth. The speakers themselves sounded lousy, but with some EQ calibration (like most speakers) they could really shine. The separation is quite good and the sound is quite clear in the mids and highs. There's no bass by default, but you can force it by turning the rear bass control all the way up and setting the EQ for lower frequencies, but at the expense of some loss of clarity. It also came with a remote control. What I didn't like about the speakers is the auto-off feature, which turns the unit on after 15 minutes of inactivity. So if you're reading something and it takes more than 15 minutes, you have to turn it back on and it starts annoying. I'm not sure if it turns on automatically because it takes too long and you'd better turn it on again with the remote. Second, it doesn't get loud enough when using the Aux/Line input. I have 5w speakers that are as loud as this set. With optical sound it is quite loud.
