Bought to cover a lovely memory foam bed I made for my rather large old cat. It fits perfectly. He is very soft and loves to cuddle with him. Looks gorgeous as a giant fluffy floor pillow. When it needs washing, I just open it up and throw it in the machine to dry. I can't say anything about durability. My cat doesn't chew on her bed but I had to pull and pull on the bedspread to get her around the bed and she seemed pretty strong and probably didn't tear easily so I gave her a 3 for chew resistance . It's strong enough, but I'm not sure if your dog really needs grinding.
