GENERAL - Like most people reading this I read many other reviews before purchasing this product. We are completely satisfied that we got exactly what we were looking for here. We wanted the fireplace to look free of clutter (wood), installation costs (wood/gas) or running costs (pellets/wood/gas). I won't use it for heating 9 months out of the year but I still have the view whenever I want. It is also clearly the centerpiece of my home. Running over the remote is a nice bonus too, as I used to pull them in the woods. which I had to order.and in the snow.stack.start a fire.etc HEAT/APPEARANCE - the cooking level is enough to make a noticeable difference in the room - especially on a lazy sunday when it can be left on for 5 hours at a time. Think of it like a ceramic heater with a small fan. Everyone who has seen it speaks positively about the realistic look of the fire and also says that the room feels warm. REALISTIC - I thought recording a video would be very helpful for those interested in the "realistic" look of fire. It was just an ordinary wall before I started. I shot a TV set with a hearth, fireplace and mantel and then used stone and oak to give it the look I wanted. Some construction photos included. INSTALLATION COSTS. It was very easy to install if you have basic framing knowledge and to be honest (not counting the cost of the TV) it only cost me around $1700, everything you see in the video is high quality Build stone and solid oak. . This includes a new 20 amp dedicated line, chimney, frame material, panels, grout, stone. Full disclosure here - I have some good tools to make this happen. It would easily cost me $8,000 if I had to install a wood or gas fireplace and about $12,000 if I had to outsource the whole thing to someone else.
