I had never owned one of these sharpening tools before so didn't know if it was worth owning but I've had a few used recently Bought wedges in 2013 so decided on a sharpener, it might make sense and the price was right. I was surprised by the quality of the tool for just over $10. It's very durable, well made and does the job well, although there is a technique that requires some effort. It doesn't come with instructions so I watched a few YouTube videos before using it and I'm glad I did. I wouldn't consider putting tape on the surface of the stick to avoid scratching non-grooved areas when using the tool. And you will scratch your racquet if you don't use the band. It can catch and then loosen very quickly, easily slipping out of the groove and causing scratches. In the end it did its job perfectly and is a neat little gadget to have in your golf tool kit.
