This fuel belt may be suitable for general running NOT racing. My reason is that the bottle pockets are VERY tight. My first (and only) run with this belt was a 20-mile training run for the Rock and Roll Marathon in Washington DC in March 2018. The bottles actually hold about 11 ounces each (10 ounces are marked on the sides, but by the border filled). at the top gives you another ounce (perhaps more), leaving enough fluid for a good walk, light jog, hike, or travel. So for today's run I didn't use any bottle gummies as they are completely unnecessary. I say this because honestly I had to use 2 hands trying to get the bottle out of my pocket! As I run several marathons a year and other races I can tell you that the extra force to remove a fuel tank takes time and energy. Also, the pop-up jacks are thin. I mean I pulled the nozzle out and it hit my lips like barley and was half closed and I had to use my teeth to open it again. Two fixes would make this the perfect fuel bottle holder, like the Nathan Trail harness (plastic holder) where the 10oz bottles fit snugly but pull out easily, and the race cap bottles (squeeze the bottle and spray straight in your mouth). I liked the anti slip technology as nothing bounced or slipped. Plus, the extra large 2-pocket feature is great too! I have a Samsung J7 and it fits perfectly in the front touchscreen pocket! There was plenty of room in the back pocket! I pulled out 5 honey spikes in the front, some pretzel sticks in the middle, and cards in the back folder. I sincerely hope someone finds an inexpensive belt like this with the fixes I mentioned. Happy running!
